Renault has boosted the appeal of its five-door New Mégane Hatch range with the launch of an all-new Extreme trim level, priced from £13,250.

With value-for-money key to every major purchase in the current economic climate, the two new Extreme models - 1.6 100 and 1.5 dCi 86 " offer a well-equipped entry-point to the New Mégane range in a frugal, refined and stylish package.

Budget-conscious buyers opting for either Extreme model will not be disappointed by the generous level of equipment on offer either, with a 4x15W radio RDS CD MP3 system, air conditioning, ESP and front electric windows all standard. Notably, the chic French newcomer undercuts its significantly lesser-powered rival, the five-door Ford Focus Studio 1.4 Duratec 80PS by a considerable £1,540* (£14,790 OTR), not to mention Volkswagens New Golf S 5 door 1.6 102PS by £1,825* (£15,075 OTR).
