Volvo places a high emphasis on the music experience in its cars and now, to further engage in an audio experience, the Volvo C30 will have an on-site presence with a difference at a number of popular music festivals over the summer. The Volvo C30 in its full sporty R-DESIGN bodykit will be appearing at Hard Rock Calling (28-29 June), O2 Wireless (3-6 July), T in the Park (11-13 July) and V Festival (16-17 August), where Volvo will be creating C30 Festival enhancing activities, complete with branded Airstream, C30 R-DESIGN and deckchairs for passers-by to chill-out in whilst admiring C30’s looks.

The C30 will be the official car of Hard Rock Calling and O2 Wireless both of which take place at London's Hyde Park where six cars will be providing a VIP Shuttle Service and festival goers will also have the chance to win a brand new Volvo C30 R-DESIGN complete with Volvo's ultimate Dynaudio Premium Sound Audio System and iPod interface.

Audio experience on the move
Volvo employs its own team of audio experts and over the years has gained a well deserved reputation for high quality audio systems. All Volvo models have been designed to give the best sound experience with Performance, High Performance and the ultimate Dynaudio Premium Sound Audio Systems offered.

The top-of-the-range Dynaudio Premium Sound Audio System, one of the very best in the automotive world, uses an Alpine digital amplifier, Dolby Pro-Logic II Surround and 12 speakers from renowned Danish speaker manufacturer Dynaudio. Thanks to the digital amplifier, the sound automatically adjusts to compensate for outside noise influences. Volume and tone both adjust. The amplifier has a very high damping factor, thanks to the ICEPower technology from Danish hi-fi experts Bang & Olufsen. This system contributes to the clear and powerful sound all the way down to the deepest bass notes.

The front doors have well-dimensioned three-way loudspeakers. The rear doors feature two-way loudspeakers with a tweeter and a mid/woofer. The tweeter diaphragm is made of textile (known as a silk dome tweeter), a Dynaudio speciality that helps create more crystal-clear sound. Each loudspeaker has a passive crossover filter to provide a harmonious total sound experience with the best possible bandwidth and dynamics.

Now, with the sensational success of the likes of the iPod, a new digital music generation expects a personalised selection of high performance music on the move and Volvo's iPod adapter enables tracks or 'Podcasts' to be played through the car's audio system.

The adapter and iPod fit discreetly out of sight in the centre armrest and connect directly to the car's audio system for high quality sound performance, and can be safely used via the car's standard audio or steering wheel remote controls. The connection also charges the iPod while driving, yet when you park, you can disconnect it and take the music with you. The iPod interface is available across the Volvo range as an accessory with a RRP of £280 (not including fitment).
